Grading:
There will be three hour exams of 100 points each. Homework will be collected and will count for 100 points. The Final will count for 150 points. This makes a total of 550 points. The grade will be base on the total number of points on of the 550 points. The dates of the tests will be:
Test 1 Tuesday, February 12
Test 2 Thursday, March 21
Test 3 Tuesday, April 23
Final Wednesday, May 8, 2:00pm.
Quizzes:
There will be in class quizzes, mostly on definitions and results that are needed to understand the lectures. The quizzes will be part of your homework grade.
Remark:
Some of the homework will involve using computers. I will get you all accounts on the mathematics department machines.
There will be not make up exams or quizzes:
If you miss a test, then your score on that exam is 75% of the average of your other test scores including the final. Likewise I will not take late homework.
