Offline homework: From another book's
§10.4
exercises:
- Instructions.
- Graph/sketch the polar curve
- express the area enclosed by the curve as a integral (or as integrals)
with respect to θ,
- express the (arc) length of the curve as a integral (or as integrals)
with respect to θ,
for problems: 9, 10, 11, 13, 21 (for 21, do the area&length part for just the
inner loop).
For the area&length parts:
you do not have to evaluate the integrals you set up and
answers can vary (esp. due to symmetry), and so evaluating your
integral would tell you if you have the correct integral.
- Also do: 23, 29.
Give the exercises a good shot before looking at the
sol'ns.
