The Department of Mathematics is pleased to be able to oversee the awards and scholarships listed on this page. All recipients will be announced and awarded at the Undergraduate Awards Day each spring semester. Recipients are selected from students who have a record of excellence in 500-level MATH courses. All students with a major in mathematics are eligible for the awards. The Laurie Undergraduate Research Scholarship is open to any student interested in doing mathematics research sponsored by a member of the mathematics faculty at USC. The Laurie Undergraduate Research Shcolarship is divided among all terms that the student is registered for courses during the research period. All other scholarships are available only to mathemtaics students with at least two semesters prior to graduation. Scholarships amounts are divided equally between the Fall and Spring semesters in the next academic year. Thus, graduating students are not eligible for scholarships. Additional criteria are listed in the description of each maplet. All decisions are made by the faculty members on the Department of Mathemtics’ Undergraduate Advisory Council.
