Exam 1



  1. Your points on the MML Exam 1 will be added to your in-class Exam 1 score. So, e.g., if your in-class Exam 1 score is 80% (i.e., 80/100) and your MML Exam 1 score is 9/10, then your Exam 1 score will be a 89%.
  2. The MML Exam 1 will cover the same material as the in-class Exam 1, i.e.,
    Chapter 12 and Chapter 13.
    The set-up will be similar to the MML Ch 12 quiz.
  3. The MML Exam 1 is to be taken over MML on
    Thursday March 14
    during the time frame of
    7:00 am and 10:00 pm .
    For this MML Exam 1, a student has
    40 minutes.
    Students need to
    complete all questions in one session
    (i.e., once you start, you can not come back to it later). In case of an emergency, email Prof. Girardi immediately.
  4. There will be 5 questions worth a total of 10 points.
  5. The questions will be in the same style as your MML homework questions.
  6. Unlike in-class exams, MML Exam 1 is: open notes, cheat sheet is allowed, and calculators are allowed.
  7. A good way to study is to work some practice quizzes, as explained at the (linked) MML Help and Hints, which is also posted on course homepage. Working such quizzes will also let you see the format of a MML quiz/exam.
  8. The time remaining shows on the bottom bar. Also, a warning appears as the end time is nearing.
  9. Your results will be posted on MML after the entire class finishes this exam.
  10. Students may not discuss, nor share any information about, the quiz with others until the day after this exam is to be taken. Failure to follow this will result in a F in the course
  11. If you are registered with the Office of Student Disability Resource Center for extended time and you have discussed your accommodations with Prof. Girardi, then your extended time will appear when you open your quiz.
