Suggestions on
How to Study
for
Final Exam

  1. If you want to (and should do) form a study group, go for it! The Math Dept Student Lounge (LC 311) and the "Mezzy" (in Thomas Cooper Library Student Success Center) are good places to hold these Calculus Jam Sessions.
  2. The Cumulative Final Exam is
Monday December 10th at 9am in LC 412.
    It covers:
    § 7.1 - 7.5, 7.8, 11.1 - 11.11, 6.1-6.3, 10.3-10.4.
The total exam is in-class, there is no take home part. The exam consists entirely of multiple choice problems.
  3. You will be provided a copy of the handout, which is a collection of handouts from this semester.
  4. Of course, you have already done all the homework for this semester.
  5. First work through, without your notes/books/etc (but with the handout that will be provided to you on the exam, see comment 3 above): Identify your weaknesses and go back to these section in the textbook and work more problems to bring you up to an acceptable level.
  6. Next, work through, without your notes/books/etc, (but with the handout that will be provided to you on the exam, see comment 3) my following previous Final exams.
  7. After working these old exams, you should know where you stand on the various concepts. For the topics you need more work on, go back to the appropriate section in the book and do more problems.
  8. Come to the exam well rested.
