Compression

The Compression Widget enables a lossy compression of large data sets over small bandwidth or congested transmission lines for realistic interactive work at remote supercomputer facilities. The amount of compression is determined by the threshold value text field. These compression algorithms are based upon biorthogonal wavelets (regular and hyperbolic) and were designed for general multi-dimensional non-square, non-power of 2 data.
