Editing Initial Conditions:

Select Edit tex2html_wrap_inline394 Initial Conditions  to expose the Initial Conditions `patch list' Editor Widget which allows the user to add, edit, or remove 3D patches of initial conditions in much the same way as performed for material regions (see Section 3.2.2 (3) and Figure 8). The initial patch contains a default value of zero over the entire grid. For each patch one may enter an arithemetic expression involving x, y, and z which is automatically parsed and evaluated over the specified patch. The region to be overwritten must be specified by setting the text fields for the region's bounds. By selecting among the options to either add a new region or editing an existing region, an Initial Conditions Editor Widget is exposed as illustrated in Figure 11. The user may wish to import a selected region from the Main Drawing area. By selecting Lock and adjusting the bounds, the user may view the selected region (outlined in red) in the Main Drawing area until a satisfactory region is selected. Press Apply to record the patch in the patch list and apply its action. Each patch may be labeled to assist in recalling model conditions. The initial conditions are determined by over-writing the actions of the previous patches with the values specified in this patch. Select Dismiss when done editing the Initial Conditions patch list.
