Instructor:
Ralph Howard
Text:
Vector Calculus by J. E. Marsdan and A. J. Tromba.
Remark:
The homework and tests are in pdf format and can be read with Adobe's Acrobat Reader which can down loaded here.
Tests:
#1 #2 #3 Final
Homework: (This is only a small part of the homework; most assignments where given orally in class.)

There will be three midterms of 100 points each. The homework will count for 100 points. The Final will count for 200 points. This gives a total of 600 points and your grade will be based on the total out of the 600. In summary:
Three midterms @ 100 points each 300 points

Homework and quizzes:
Some of the homework will be in the form of things your are to know by the next class and "collected" in the form of a short quiz.
There will be not make up exams or quizzes:
If you miss a test, then your score on that exam is 75% of the average of your other test scores including the final. Likewise I will not take late homework.
A word about prerequisites:
Mathematics 241 is listed as a prerequisite to this class. While it will not be assumed that you remember everything from that class, it will be assumed that you do remember the basics about vectors and how to work with them. This includes adding, subtracting, and multiplying them by scalars. Also the dot product and the cross product and what they mean geometrically and how to use them to solve geometric problems such as finding the distance from a point to a plane.
