George and Jane Robinson
Circa 1915 photo of George Robinson.
Jane Blackaby Robinson, his wife, ca. 1890's.
Back side of previous photo.
Jane Robinson once again.
I got my dark eyes from her (really!).
Headstone for George and Jane, as well as for sons George and John H.
(my granddad).
Death certificate from 1917 for George Robinson.
John and Jean Robinson
My grandparents in their only known photo together.
This group photo is probably their class at Nyack College in NY, ca. 1905.
John Hart Robinson is the tall man in the back.
He was born in 1882.
His future wife, then Alice Maude Kenyon (called "Maude") is
gazing off next to the mustachioed man.
He called her "Jean", so she ended up as Jean M. Robinson.
Closeup.
John Hart Robinson, with his first child, my aunt Jeanette (Sater),
ca. 1912? Thanks to Carol Sater for this one and the next one.
John Robinson ? This handsome chap is supposed to be John,
but it looks like a different person to us.
Portrait of Jean
marked in the corner "Barrett, 324 Yonge St., Toronto."
This may be ca. 1905.
Jean as a young woman , perhaps at the time of her engagement,
ca. 1910, that is stamped "Dixon, 293 Yonge St., Toronto".
Jean in a group.
The stamp says "Dixon, 301 Yonge St., Toronto", and it is written, perhaps
by Jean herself on the bottom, "Maude Kenyon, 1909."
A photo likely taken in the 1940's of Jean
for White King Publicity , for the Los Angeles Soap Company that
she worked for. It was taken at The Broadway (Dept. Store?) Portrait
Studio.
Jean in a coat from a color enlargement.
It was taken in our front yard in La Canada, CA, probably
in the late 1950's.
Children of George and Jane
So far we have photos of 7 of the Robinson children (counting John
above).
William Robinson, oldest son of George and Jane. He married Eva Mae
Cady 18 November, 1908, in Spokane. There is a good chance they had a farm
as George Robinson's death certificate lists him as a farmer. (My mother
used to mention Aunt Eva, and spending time in the summer on the farm,
eating peas right off the vine.)
Albert Robinson , born 1878, with his wife, Eva Marie Scott, and daughter.
"AJ" married Eva on Sept 17, 1904 in Newark, NJ. They moved out
west by 1911 to Portland, Oregon. They lived the remainder of their lives in
Portland, never on a farm.
Marriage certificate, AJ and Eva, from Tim Robinson.
Ethel-Louise Robinson Houston, .
Ida Robinson Thompson , ca. 1920's. She died in 1933.
From Austin Chapman.
George Robinson (son), ca. 1930.
Albert, William, and Daniel Herbert Robinson .
Eva and AJ Robinson , at home in the 1950's.
AJ and Eva Robinson .
William , working a crossword puzzle.
Albert and Eva Robinson ca. 1960.
Eva Robinson , wife of Albert, 1969. Also

Stunning view of Puget Sound from Jerry Robinson's deck, taken by
Tim Robinson (2005).
Painting by Hope Thompson Chapman, daughter of George and Jane's
daughter Ida Robinson Thompson. A gift to my mother, Elenore,
it is named "Chrysanthemums", the place
is Hunt Beach, the date is March/1967, and the price is "Love". As
she died later in 1967, it is very touching.
