There were many people who helped during Ewa's time in the ICU in Savannah. These include Ewa's nurses and doctors, and the Lifestar helicopter rescue team. In particular I want to thank nurse Keli Hansard who went way beyond the call of duty and made my stay there much easier.

My niece Leslie and my sisters Janine and Carol all spent significant time with me in Savannah. Leslie came down the very next day after the accident. Carol spent the night with me on the floor of the ICU waiting room on Christmas night.

I am indebted to two previous students at the University of South Carolina, Denney Geoffroy and Tim McMillan. They made frequent visits to the ICU during my month there and their support was invaluable.

I certainly appreciated the many people from the University of Charleston and the University of South Carolina that traveled to Savannah to visit Ewa.

Ewa's colleagues at the University of Charleston were wonderful too in the way that they helped take care of many problems. In particular, Herb Silverman and Bev Diamond went to pick up Shyka, our dog, and Mick Norton and his family took care of her for about two months. Bev Diamond took care of Ewa's bills for over a month. Thanks to USC professors Sperry and Sung for taking my classes at the beginning of the Spring Semester.
