A graphing calculator is required for Math 122

Our Math 122 course has had a graphing calculator requirement for many years now. Unfortunately, the online master schedule has left off this requirement. We strongly recommend TI-84 or TI-83, while the TI-82 is still acceptable. The keystrokes on these 3 families of calculators are identical and sufficient for our course, although there are a few things that are slightly more difficult to do on the TI-82.

TI's more powerful calculators are the TI-89 and Voyage 200. These can handle symbolic algebra and find exact formulas for derivatives and integrals. Also the keystrokes are significantly different. These more powerful calculators are not allowed for quizzes, tests, or the final exam.
