Finding Announcements posted on MML.
Announcements posted on MML are item such as: hints on MML question,
due date changes due to incremental weather.
To view all current Announcements posted on MML,
go to the MML Landing page, which is (MML) Course Home
in right column on a horizontal menu
change the choice: from Current to Entire Course to Date.
For your convenience,
when no longer pertinent an announcement is removed; thus,
for the entire semester two announcements will remain:
the course homepage link and MML's browser check.
Warning:
The MML Landing page shows only the announcements posted during
the time frame (Day, Week, 2 Weeks, Month)
for which your calendar is set.
E.g., if your calendar is set for Week, then on Sunday at 12:01am you
would not see an announcement that was posted on Saturday.
Finding the eText.
The electronic textbook is available via many avenues.
Avenue 1 (Prof. G. finds this is the fastest way to pull-up/load the eText.)
From the left side menu, click eText Contents.
From the RIGHT side, where it says
"Read your complete eText here",
click on the linked eText.
In a new window/tab, all chapters of the textbook will show up.
On the left side menu, clicking on the pancake icon pulls up
Table of Contents, from where you can navigate to the desired chapter or section.
Avenue 2
From the left side menu, click Accessible Resources.
From the RIGHT side, where it says "View the eText for your course", click on the linked eText
In a new window/tab, you will be given the choices to either view the entire (complete) eText
or to view a specific Chapter from the eText. Either choice will open in a new window/tab.
Avenue 3
While working a homework MML question that is labeled x.y.z (Chapter.Section.ExerciseNumber),
in the lower left corner click on Textbook.
A pop up window with Section x.y of the eText will pop up.
Finding Assignments.
Two avenues, which both show due dates and previous assignment scores.
Avenue 1. MML ususally opens to the (MML) Course Home page,
which is also the top link on the left menu.
If your view is set to Entire Course To Date,
then MML will show everything.
If your view is set to Current, then MML will show
the portion (day, week, 2weeks, month)
you have set for View by.
If needed (e.g., set to "View by month" and it is
almost the end of the month), then use the > icon
to view the next month.
Scroll down to
the section 'Current Assignments'.
Note you scrolled past the Announcements,
which contains Prof. G's hints on selected assignments.
Avenue 2. On MML's left menu, select (MML) Assignments.
Note there are drop-down menus, which if set to All Assignments
and All Chapters then everything
(homework, quizzes, tests) will show.
Reviewing Assignments
On MML's left tool bar, click on Student Gradebook.
There are drop-down menus, which if set to Entire course to date
and All Assignments then everything will show.
For the assignment you wish to review, click on the blue Review.
Using the above Finding assignments's Avenue 2 will
display all assignments.
If you missed an assignment and and it is not showing up in the
Student Gradebook, then email Prof. G.
Student Solution Manual.
Has solutions to the textbook's odd numbered exercises.
If the top center of a MML question says Question 17, 1.2.3,
then the question similar to Section 1.2's Exercise 3.
From the left side menu, click on Video & Resources Library.
From the drop down menu, click on Student's Solutions Manual.
From the RIGHT side, click on Student's Solutions Manual.
From the window that pops up, click on the appropriate chapter.
Solutions to the odd numbered exercises will open in a new window/tab.
If Student's Solutions Manual does not appear
under Video&Resources Library, shot Prof.G an e-mail. (ignore:
ManageCourse↓EditCourseMenu↓VR Library)
Finding your current overall score.
On MML's left menu click on Student Gradebook.
Towards the top will be your Overall Score
and for more information click on Calculation.
Assignments with late submission penalty.
Explanation by example.
If an assignment has a 'Late Submission Penalty'
of `50% deducted per day for questions completed after due date',
the reduction is for each fraction of the day (so if you submit 12 hours after the due date
the penalty is 25%).
Source of practice problems.
Great practice for quizzes/exams.
Your scores do not count towards your grade.
Choose from a specific learning objective
or an entire section.
MML choosen question, with aid such as View An Example
when available.
From the left side menu, click on Study Plan.
From the horizontal Study Plan Recommendations, click an All Chapters.
Click on the Chapter you want. It will show the Chapter's sections (along with their names).
Click on the Section you want.
It will open with the All Objectives (for that section) displayed
along with practice problems for each objective.
Click on any MML question. Up pops all questions for that entire section,
starting on the question that you clicked.
Take a practice quiz over a learning objective.
Great practice for actual quiz/exam.
Your practice quiz scores do not count towards your grade.
MML choosen question.
Each section has several learning objectives.
From the left side menu, click on Study Plan.
From the horizontal Study Plan Recommendations, click an All Chapters.
Click on the Chapter you want. It will show the Chapter's sections (along with their names).
Click on the Section you want.
Toward the top where there is a box with a pull down menu showing All Objectives.
Using the pull down menu, select a specific objective.
Note: you can not chose All Objectives.
Just to the right (or under, if your screen is small)
of your selected objective, click on the gray Quiz Me box.
Up will pop the cover page for the quiz. Read the instruction.
A practice quiz (unlike an actual quiz) is not time limited.
Toward the bottom click the blue Start Test box
(or, if you had already started the quiz, the blue Finish the Test box).
Your practice quiz will pop up.
When finished with the practice quiz,
click Submit Test.
Then details of your quiz results will pop up,
with the opportunity to Review Test.
If at a later time you want to try another practice quiz over the same objective,
just start at Step 1 of these instructions.
